01 / THE IDEA
A technology platform built around the individual tree.
The long-term research goal remains the same: take an individual tree recorded by LiDAR, reconstruct its structure through a plausible growth history and explore how it could develop from there.
CrannAI is now also becoming the commercial platform around that work: shared identity, secure organisation data, APIs, report intelligence and future LiDAR/tree products — without turning the public project into a generic software landing page.

Specialised intelligence, not a thin AI wrapper.
External language models are treated as replaceable processing engines. CrannAI owns the arboricultural schemas, evidence handling, validation, organisation knowledge, usage controls and professional workflows around them.
The same platform is designed to host the LiDAR and tree-modelling systems as they mature, without rebuilding accounts, security or commercial infrastructure for every product.
Report Intelligence is the first near-term commercial module. Growth and scan-conditioned modelling remain research/development systems until their claims can be defended.
